The brief called for the design of a 4-star Landscape Hotel and Restaurant, subject to a series of specific planning and topographical constraints.
Given the site’s dramatic topography—featuring a 150-metre drop in level from the access point down to the Conde de Guadalhorce Reservoir—the design required a cascading arrangement that simultaneously respected the area’s native vegetation. The proposal sought to minimise environmental impact by distributing detached suites across the site, strictly adhering to the natural contours and ensuring total immersion in nature.
The positioning of each unit was carefully varied to secure optimal orientation and views, ensuring that no structure obstructed the sightlines of another.
Only two larger-scale buildings were proposed to house the hotel’s communal amenities, such as the reception, restaurant-café, gymnasium, and swimming pool.
Regarding construction, the proposal envisaged low-impact foundations and the fabrication of the accommodation units using recycled, renewable, and non-toxic materials.
